• Zwinky Safety: 5 Lines to Never Fall For

    I hope the holiday season is going well for everyone! Have you redeemed that Zwinky Gift Card that your aunt got you? Don’t forget, you receive DOUBLE ZCARD for all Zong and Paypal purchases, as well as Gift Card redemptions, through January 5, 2012!

    The New Year is fast approaching; do you have a resolution yet? If not, I’ve got a suggestion. How about being safer in Zwinky?  The Player Support Team and zwINK! bloggers see many comments come in about stolen accounts. Having this New Year’s resolution can help you evade wicked schemes and keep your account safe.

    The most important thing to remember is to NEVER give out your password. No one you meet in Zwinktopia will ever need your password for anything. The only place to enter your password is in the login box to access Zwinky. If someone is asking for your password, you are asking for trouble by giving it to them. Got it? Great!

    Now, here are some common lines we hear from not-so-nice Zwinks who try to trick you into giving them access to your account. Though their talk might sound sweet, don’t fall for it!

    • “Free ZCard in my room”
      Remember: no one can give you free ZCard. If you want to earn ZCard for free by completing partner offers, check out our offers page.
    • “I’m not a hacker/ IDK how to hack”
      People who go out of their way to say they are innocent sound rather suspicious, no? While Zwinksters cannot technically “hack” your account, they can manipulate you into sharing personal info that gives them access to your Zwinky. Keep your info safe!
    • “Wanna trade accounts?”
      Trading accounts requires sharing personal information. Even if you want to swap with a bestie – don’t do it. We’ve seen friends fight and destroy each other’s accounts. We have also seen “friends” “borrow” ZCard from shared accounts that they never give back. Your account is as special as you!  Your hard work isn’t worth losing.
    • “My [relative] works for Zwinky, I can get u free ZCard”
      If someone claims that their mother, father, or other relative works for Zwinky, tell them to say “Hi” to Captain Zwinky for you! But…don’t tell them your information! Remember: No one you meet in Zwinktopia can give you free ZCard.
    • “Name an outfit your password.”
      The only place you should ever type your password is in the log in box when you enter Zwinky. What does your password have to do with your awesome outfits? Absolutely nothing! Save your outfit labels for cool names that express your creativity.

    If you happen to fall for one of these tricks (which you won’t, because you’ve read this blog post, heh), contact Zwinky Player Support with the following information.

    • The Zwinky Username that was stolen.
    • The email address you provided during registration.
    • The answer to your secret question.
    • Your date of birth, which you provided at registration.

    Once the information is received, we will be able to investigate further. Depending on what we discover, we may be able to help! Please do not leave comments about getting hacked here on the blog, or on blogger profiles. Contacting Zwinky Player Support is the fastest way to get your issue investigated!

    • I was hacked coz i realized some of my friends were deleted and my wardrobe the outfits were pretty uglyy but thank god the hacker didnt change the password so i changed the password b4 he/she did :D

    • I’ve learned my lesson about hacks. Some girl hacked my first account and it had Zcard too *sniff**sniff*. Sadly i gave her my password ( IT WAS MI FIRST ACCOUNT, DONT BLAME ME!!!) for free Zcard. Big surprise she changed my password , deleted all my friends and I’ve never seen that acc ever again.

    • I tryed changeing my accout stuff and it said it was change and it didnt and i went back it was too late she had already set the acoout settings to privite. :(
