Zwinky Advice-Off 2009: Round 5

Welcome, Zwinksters, to this historic event!

This is the fifth in a five-part series that pits zwINK bloggers/advice columnists Mr. Metropolitan and Miss Thang against each other.

The outcome will be entirely up to you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009 Question #5: Zwinky resident x-hacked_twice-x asks...

I have a bf named Joey. Me and him love each other and all but then I went a party and met Clark. I don't know what to do since I love them soo much. I can't choose. And they won't stop fighting. I might just quit because I love them both. I have asked my friends and they said do what ever your heart says. But it's Zwinky... idk what my heart is even saying! Please help me.

Now let's hear from our contestants!

Miss Thang: That certainly is a pickle... and a sour one at that. There is one piece of this story that puzzles me a bit. You say you love Joey, but then you meet another guy and all of a sudden you are in love with him too. Perhaps you like jumping into things a bit quickly. Since you are unsure about what your heart is telling you, how about listening to Miss Thang's heart instead. It's saying take a breather from both dudes to figure out who you are before deciding who'll ultimately make you happy.

Mr. Metropolitan: Wow. Sounds like a challenging dilemma, to say the least. The best advice I can give you may come in the form of another question. That is...do you really have to choose? I mean, assuming you're not gearing up to enter an exclusive marital arrangement with one or the other, maybe the best option is to simply love them both right now. Because the time will likely come some day when the choice will be much clearer.

Okay. Now it's your turn. Let's hear from you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009: Round 4

Welcome, Zwinksters, to this historic event!

This is the fourth in a five-part series that pits zwINK bloggers/advice columnists Mr. Metropolitan and Miss Thang against each other.

The outcome will be entirely up to you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009 Question #4: Zwinky resident aqua_ish_me_name asks...

Hello, Ok i need to get to the point quicker... well, there's this guy who i fell in love with, we planned to get married and he told me to get a ZCard or else, so I didn't get one! he ignored me and then in hottie in z-avenue he told me he 'just' wanted to be friends. i'm soo sad i cried my eyes out but now i don't know what to do!

Now let's hear from our contestants!

Mr. Metropolitan: Wow, what a loser this guy must be. Mr. Metropolitan has no patience for anyone that puts a price on love. But I don't think you should let this jerk go just yet.

If I were you, I'd do my best to humiliate him until he publicly apologizes to you. Follow him all over Zwinktopia. Throw things at him. Make sure everyone knows wherever you are that this guy dumped you because you refused to get a ZCard. And if you don't get an apology from him after a week or so, just let it go. You may not get him back this way, but you'll probably feel a lot better about things in the long run.

Miss Thang: There's only one thing for you to do, my dear. Move on, and thank your lucky stars you didn't get hitched to this devious devil! I'm sorry, but this guy sounds like a total loser, and you are much better off without him and his lies.

Okay. Now it's your turn. Let's hear from you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009: Round 3

Welcome, Zwinksters, to this historic event!

This is the third in a five-part series that pits zwINK bloggers/advice columnists Mr. Metropolitan and Miss Thang against each other.

The outcome will be entirely up to you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009 Question #3: Zwinky resident eagles_fans asks...

I like a guy but he's kinda a bad boy and I've heard he was a player...I'm not sure whether to date him or this other guy that really likes me but...he's really clingy please help me!

Now let's hear from our contestants!

Miss Thang: My mantra is "Let the dater beware." If you know this guy is no good, then you are accepting the fact that you might get hurt. And that means you can't blame anyone but yourself if you become heartbroken. By the way, it's interesting that you say you like this bad boy, but don't mention your feelings for mystery man number two. Why not look for a guy who won't hurt you, and you can actually stand to be around?

Mr. Metropolitan: Good question, eagles_fans. The answer all depends on what you're looking for in a relationship. If you're looking strictly to have some fun without worrying about a commitment, then it sounds like the bad boy might be the right option. If you want something more serious, though, you may want to consider Mr. Static Cling. Ultimately, as difficult as it can be to decide... this one is as simple enough to say you should simply follow your heart... or your gut... or even your mind. And if those organs are telling you different things, take a deep breath or two and let your lungs decide.

Want the locked items from your wardrobe?

Good news! Now you can unlock your wardrobe a little bit at a time! I know that some of you have been frustrated by how long it takes to reach the 2000 Zchievements that it takes to unlock your wardrobe. So, we came up with a plan and made some changes. Here's how it works:

As usual, you will have access to 8 items from every category when you register for Zwinky. But now, when you reach 100 Zchievements, you unlock 2 additional items from every category! Just by going through a few steps of the New User Quest and walking around Zwinktopia, you can easily rack up 100 Zchievements.

After that, you unlock 3 more items when you reach 300 Zchievements, 4 more items when you reach 600, 5 more when you reach 1000, and 6 more when you reach 1500.

And, to keep things fair for everyone, you still need 2000 to unlock the entire wardrobe. But hey, at least you get rewarded along the way now!

So head over to Zarcadia, play some games, and earn your Zchievements!!! With a little bit of time and some gaming skills, you can have access to everything in no time!

And that's not all. Along with the new unlocking system, we decided to throw in something extra that we thought you'd enjoy - miscellaneous items! Have you ever seen the miscellaneous section in the Classic Wardrobe and wanted to take those items into Zwinktopia, but they don't appear? Well, now they do! So grab your giant teddy bear, an umbrella, or some fancy wings, and maybe you'll win best dressed at the next fashion show!

I hope you like the changes, I'm definitely enjoying them so far!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009: Round 2

Welcome, Zwinksters, to this historic event!

This is the second in a five-part series that pits zwINK bloggers/advice columnists Mr. Metropolitan and Miss Thang against each other.

The outcome will be entirely up to you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009 Question #2: Zwinky resident -4rtist- asks...

I have a love question... So i like this boy but i don't think he notices me i sometimes hang with him and just kid around with stuff and go shopping (which is fun ) but I still cant get him to notice me. Please help!

Now let's hear from our contestants!

Mr. Metropolitan: Since I am a gentleman of impeccable manners, I would normally defer this question to Miss Thang... since she may have some specific beauty tips in mind for you. But that would be against the spirit of this competition. So my best advice to you is this: stop trying so hard! If you like him, the tendency is to try and become someone else who you think he might like in return...and that's precisely the wrong thing to do. All you need to do is be yourself, and if he likes you – the real you, that is – you'll come to know that in due time. And if he never gets around to telling you that, it likely means he either doesn't like you... or he's simply playing games. Guys love their games. Mr. Metropolitan, for instance, enjoys being a complete enigma, as it makes the days and nights much more interesting.

Miss Thang: Ok, no offense to all the marvelous men out there, but some of you can be a bit thick-headed at times. There are certain guys who need a little nudge or even a blatant push in the right direction. Now, if you are feeling particularly brave, you can always admit your true feelings and see where it goes. In fact, I think it's safe to say most men would at the very least be flattered by this type of admission. (well, except Mr. Metropolitan who would let such a display go directly to his head.) However, if you are looking for a more subtle approach, gently suggest a solo outing featuring an activity you'd both enjoy. Then consider making your move!

Okay. Now it's your turn. Let's hear from you!

Back to school fashion looks for the ladies

Hello Zwinktopia!

This is a pretty special post today. The fashion guru herself (Miss Cosmopolitan) asked me to write a back-to-school fashion review! So here are my favorite looks for Fall and great back-to-school outfits that will be sure to make you the best dressed of your school!

1. To start, you can pair a trendy vest with any kind of bottom. Add a vest to an outfit to give it some zest, all colors are welcome to mix and match! Here I have a vest with a subtle t-shirt and a vibrant dark purple jean, I paired this outfit with a pair of nude heels. Nude heels seem to be an accessory must-have for this season. With this outfit, you'll be ready to hit the town after school!

2. Next, I have a comfortable yet trendy outfit for you that would be perfect for school. Gray tinted jeans paired with a warm red shirt, accessorized with a long necklace and a roomy tote to hold all of your school stuff! Never underestimate the power of accessories, they can make (or break!) the outfit.

3. Here is another trend for the Fall season...colored jeans! I have been in so many stores lately that have a huge variety of colored pants! I personally like to stay in the darker colors but by all means girl, if you can pull it off, go for the bright yellow or pink pants! Here we have a dark green pant paired with a simple shirt and cropped jacket (be sure to keep your shirt tame if you are pairing with colored pants). This look is comfortable yet stylish and will be sure to grab attention!

4. Lastly, my fourth look for Fall is yet another trend...floral patterns! You'll be seeing lots of florals this Fall with vibrant colors. So pick out a fun floral piece and have fun with it. I have paired this floral shirt with simple black leggings and ballet flats. Again, it's comfortable yet super stylish. So grab your backpack and you'll be ready to get to school!

Back to school fashion looks for men

Hello Zwinktopia!

I've been having so much fun this summer, I can't beleive that school is just around the corner! However, I like to think of school as an opportunity rather than a chore, a chance to get back in touch with friends I haven't seen, learn some new things, and of course dress to impress!

With that in mind, let's take a look at some "Back to School" fashions that you can rock.

I never thought I'd see the day, but jeans jackets are making a comeback! (I remember the FIRST time they were in style, many years ago!) Go for the gusto with an "all denim" outfit, matching a retro jeans jacket with a modern cut dark colored pair of jeans.

Mr Foxtrot

Another way to go is just keep the outfit simple. In this case., that means stone washed jeans and a track jacket, and making your statement with accessories. The latest sunglasses copped from SOHO coupled with a military inspired dog-tag necklace leads the eye down to the subtle skull-and-bones design on his sneakers. And remember, your personal attitude always says more about you than your clothes.
Mr Foxtrot

But this little cutie has a different plan in mind, he's dressing like summer isn't over at all! If the Hawaiian shirt, swimming shorts and sandals weren't enough to tip you off, he went ahead and brought his surf board with him to make sure you get the message: "Aloha, dudes! It's an endless summer!"

Mr Foxtrot

So however you decide to head back to school, remember have fun, stay true to yourself, and no matter how cool you look on the outside, it's what's inside that counts.

See you in Zwinktopia!

Mr Foxtrot

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009: Round 1

Welcome, Zwinksters, to this historic event!

This is the first of a five-part series that pits zwINK bloggers/advice columnists Mr. Metropolitan and Miss Thang against each other.

The outcome will be entirely up to you!

Zwinky Advice-Off 2009 Question #1: Zwinky resident beyond_the_sun asks...

Alright, hoping one (or both) of the awesome advice bloggers could help with this. I met a very sweet, attractive, and funny guy while hanging out at ZSU about a week ago. He has asked me to officially date him on Zwinky. However, while hanging out with him, 2 different girls at different times advised me he was a cheater. I know I should ask him about it, but I don't want to wrongly accuse him of something he didn't do. I also doubt he would admit to it if it were true. I'm not sure what to do. Go for it anyway? And if it is true, do you think once a cheater, always a cheater? Thanks for any help you can give!

Then she follows up with this crucial information.

Oh... I should add those girls whispered. He doesn't know they said anything to me.

Now, let's hear from our contestants!

Miss Thang: That is definitely a heated question, beyond_the_sun. But there is some critical info missing here. How well do you know these girls? Has Mr. Wonderful ever given you a reason to believe he's been unfaithful? Could these gabbing girls potentially be jealous and trying to get your guy for themselves? Too many unanswered inquiries if you ask me. Only you can assess what you've got with your honey and whether or not it's worth confronting him about these allegations. If you decide to talk to him and find out he's been cheating, well, it should take a whole lot of time and even more effort to get back in your good graces again... if at all!

Mr. Metropolitan: Hmmm. Sounds like the two girls you've heard this from may have an agenda of their own. I've certainly encountered women with their own insidious romantic agenda... just ask Miss Thang.

The best relationships are based on complete honesty and openness. Along those lines, you should not hesitate at all in letting your guy know that there are folks out there saying this about him. If you ever receive absolute proof that he is cheating or he ever admitted to it, then that would be a different story. But without that proof, though, it really comes down to how you feel about him – regardless of what other sniping, hateful rivals might say behind his back.

Okay. Now it's your turn. Let's hear from you!

The Mr. Metropolitan/Miss Thang advice-off 2009 begins!

The results are in!

As you may recall, Miss Thang and Mr. Metro are at it again! Somehow I've found myself in the middle of a huge debate about which blogger gives better advice.

So, I asked you to send me your advice questions for the great Mr. Metropolitan/Miss Thang advice-off of 2009! We got some good questions and now our two beloved columnists have weighed in.

I'll be rolling out the answers over the next several weeks beginning tomorrow, so keep your eyes open.

Each question will be accompanied by a poll. Make sure you vote... not for which is your favorite in general, but which advice you think is the best!

Stay tuned!

Miss Intern's "Top Five Things To-Do" Before Summer Ends!

Hello Zwinktopia!

I don't know about you all but my summer is FLYING by. I can't believe the summer is almost over, I still have so much I want to do!

During the coldest months of winter I always think of all of the fun things I want to do when summer finally arrives. Yet it always seems that when summer does arrive, it passes way too fast to accomplish all of the things I had in mind.

So as you could have guessed I am at the beach writing this blog post! I have been in deep thought for the past hour (while working on my tan of course) and I have decided to create my top five things to-do before Summer ends list:

1. Go on a Picnic!

A REAL one guys. I'm talking about getting together a red and white checkered blanket, a wooden basket and homemade sandwiches on Wonderbread. Pick a day that is supposed to have nice weather and go to a local park to set up. When I get back home I plan on grabbing my special someone and heading to my favorite park in CT, Kent Falls. There is nothing like having a fabulous picnic with the beautiful waterfalls in view.

2. Go to the beach!

Yes, I know. You are probably all rolling your eyes because the beach is what I have been talking about all summer long. But trust me, you will regret not going to the beach one last time in December when you are freezing cold and it's snowing. So grab some SPF and head to the beach!

3. Back-to-school Shopping!

This applies to you even if you are not heading back to school, the beginning of Fall always consists of GREAT back-to-school specials and sales. So head to the mall, bring that hard earned summer cash and look for the sales!

4. Grab some ice cream!

I realize that you can have ice cream all year round, but there is nothing like going to your local ice-cream parlor on a hot summer night, preferably in time to watch the sun set. Remembering nights like that will get you through the brutal cold months of Winter!

5. Last but not least...spend time with family and friends!

Once Summer ends, the craziness begins! Everyone gets super busy with back-to-school madness so plan a picnic, a pool day, or that much needed catch-up phone call. Make sure to spend time with your loved ones while Summer is still here!

I hope you all are able to accomplish my five things to-do before Summer ends. Enjoy the rest of your Summer and be sure to take advantage of all of the hot sunny days!
