Hey there Zwinksters! I hope you're all having a fabulous summer! It's been a toasty one so far, huh? Give me a cold glass of lemonade, a gossip magazine, and a big ol' pool and I'd be one happy girl!

As I'm sure many of you would agree, summer is about one thing and one thing only: FUN! During these brief few months we're allowed to ditch the school books, throw our winter coats under our beds, and spend a ton of lazy time with our friends and family.

However, have you ever thought about using summer as a way to jump-start your career? Now, I'm sure you're thinking "I'm only 14, what is Miss P talkin' about?" But keep reading...

Lately, I've been seeing/hearing/reading about an amazing pop culture phenomenon: ordinary kids becoming successful, even famous, just by doing what they love! How awesome?!

A few of you may know this kid, his name is Justin Bieber. He started his career on YouTube as a teenager just by doing what he loves to do: sing! Now he's almost more famous than Madonna, Britney Spears, and President Obama combined!

Ever heard of Cecilia Cassini? At six years old, she was given a sewing machine for her birthday. With an incredible love for fashion and drive to succeed, she became the pioneer of "kiddie couture." Today, at ten years old, she has been featured on several TV shows and in several magazines as the youngest fashion designer.

Another example is Blair Fowler. At sixteen, this "YouTube Beauty Guru" began sharing her tips, tricks, and make up secrets online. Now, her YouTube account boasts almost 500,000 subscribers and her Twitter has almost 100,000 followers! (Hey, maybe Zwinky can beat her! Follow us on Twitter!)

So what does this mean for you? Well, it doesn't mean you need to buy a sewing machine or create a YouTube account. Rather, I'm suggesting that maybe what you love to do is actually more substantial than you think.

Do you love to draw? Make Zwinky tutorials? Design profile pages? Sing? Dance? What are your hobbies? Just think, if you spent some of the time you sleep in on what you love to do, you may have some surprising results.

If you write, try submitting a poem or a short story to a teen literary magazine. Love playing soccer? Start giving lessons to the kids in your neighborhood! Have fun setting up lemonade stands? Create a few signature drinks and snacks to go along with it!

Some food for thought: some Zwinky YouTube Tutorials have close to 200,000 views! You never know where those few extra steps can take you! The options and choices are endless!

So, good luck my Zwinksters! Feel free to ZNote me your ideas, thoughts, and talents!

xoxo Miss P
